Supporting Your Health and Wellbeing This Christmas

As the festive season approaches, many of us look forward to time with family and friends – but we also know that Christmas can bring extra stress, worry, and uncertainty for some.

That’s why Healthworks has created a special health and wellbeing resource hub for Christmas 2025, designed to help people across Newcastle and the North East stay supported, informed and connected over the holidays.

What’s you’ll find in the Festive Hub

Healthworks’ resources cover a wide range of needs – including mental health, financial wellbeing, loneliness, housing or employment worries. The support is free and flexible: you can access help by phone, online or in person.

With winter and holiday-specific pressures in mind – rising costs, shorter days, social isolation – the team aims to offer practical support and trusted information when people might need it the most.

Why this matters

For many, Christmas isn’t a carefree time. Financial stress, grief, loneliness or pressure to “enjoy the season” can weigh heavily. According to experts, nearly 80% of people with mental health challenges say the holidays make things harder.

Even when the festive cheer is loud, feelings of isolation or worry can quietly grow. That’s why free, local support that understands the unique pressures people face right now can make all the difference.

How Healthworks is helping

Healthworks’ Community Wellbeing Pathfinder service steps in to offer:

  • one-to-one support tailored to your circumstances (housing, mental health, money worries, and more)

  • practical advice and signposting to other services if needed

  • resources to help you manage stress, finances and wellbeing through the holidays

The aim is simple: give everyone access to help and hope, no matter their situation.
