A little bit about Healthworks Pre-school…

A childcare worker with children

We look at all seven areas of the EYFS

At Healthworks we are dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children. We build on the strengths and interests of each child to form a solid foundation for their futures. Children have the opportunity to express themselves through music, dance, painting and messy play…we don’t advise sending your children in their best clothes as getting messy is lots of fun!

Having fun is great but we offer so much more. We look at all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) when planning for the children’s development.

We spend a lot of time having fun outdoors in our community garden

Based in The Lemington Centre, our Pre-school is not short of space. We spend most of our time free flowing between our indoor and outdoor space. We also have a lovely community garden which we explore on a regular basis.

Throughout the session children are able to participate in a range of activities both indoors and outdoors. Activities vary from physical, messy play, exploring, mark making, maths and role play. We pride ourselves on the children’s interests being central to their learning and development.

We continually ‘Observe, Assess and Plan’

We continuously ‘Observe, Assess and Plan’ through the children’s play interests following guidelines from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and we recognise that parents are young children’s first educators and welcome their involvement.

Our Pre-school acknowledges and values each child’s individual stage, ability, culture, religion, language and family group and we are committed to the integration of children with disabilities/additional needs.
