We are working towards the Investors In Environment bronze award

Healthworks is looking at how we can reduce our impact on the environment, be more sustainable and save money and energy too.

As part of the work that is ongoing in this area, we have enrolled in the Investors in the Environment award scheme.

You can find out more about iiE here.

Some of our key tasks will be to develop an Environmental Policy, measure energy usage, set targets, create action plans, calculate our carbon footprint and develop a Travel Plan.

and wanted to share some of the things we have introduced to support sustainability so far:

  • Introducing recycling bins at both sites
  • Using digital communications as much as we can to reduce the amount of paper being used
  • Reducing single use plastics wherever possible
  • Reducing the use of paper towels
  • Promoting love food hate waste messages
  • Developing ‘save energy save money’ information
  • Developing staff guidance to help save energy and reduce waste
  • Installing light sensors where appropriate
  • Installing thermostats in the gyms
  • Using solar panels
  • Using recycled paper

Upon successful implementation of the iiE criteria, we will be awarded with the recognised stamp of certification.  Over the coming weeks and months, we will keep you updated on our progress and any new developments.
