Useful Vision Families Experience St. James’ Park in an Accessible Way
Families who attend Healthworks’ Useful Vision activities recently enjoyed a memorable visit to St. James’ Park, thanks to Newcastle United.

Members of our Children and Families team co-ordinated the tour with Newcastle United and supported families throughout.
You can watch the tour highlights video here.
The special visit gave children and families the opportunity to explore the iconic stadium in a unique and inclusive way, experiencing the famous ground through touch, sound and storytelling. The experience helped bring the stadium to life for children with visual impairments and gave families the chance to enjoy a day out together in a welcoming and accessible environment.
Healthworks’ Useful Vision service supports visually impaired children and their families across the North East, offering inclusive activities, opportunities to build confidence and chances for families to connect with others facing similar experiences.
Experiences like this play an important role in helping children develop independence, try new things and create lasting memories.

Healthworks would like to say a huge thank you to Newcastle United for inviting Useful Vision families to take part in such a fantastic visit and for sharing the experience in their recent post highlighting accessible stadium experiences.
