Shape the Future of Surgical Care With iPREPWELL

Healthworks is excited to host a special workshop in partnership with Durham University to help shape the future of surgical care and recovery in the UK.

If you’re preparing for major surgery – or have undergone major surgery within the last 12 months – this is your chance to have your voice heard and make a meaningful contribution to healthcare innovation.

What is iPREPWELL?

iPREPWELL is a groundbreaking digital tool designed to help people get healthier before surgery and support recovery afterwards. Developed with NHS input, the platform aims to improve physical and mental wellbeing before and after major operations – ultimately helping patients achieve better outcomes and feel more confident on their surgical journey.

But to make iPREPWELL the best it can be, the team needs real insight from real patients – and that’s where you come in.

Join the iPREPWELL Workshop

We’re inviting surgery patients to take part in a hands-on workshop where you can explore the platform, share your experiences, and shape future improvements.

Monday 1 December
10:00am – 12:00pm
Healthworks, Adelaide Terrace, NE4 8BE
In-person and online options available
£75 voucher + travel costs reimbursed
Refreshments provided

Your feedback will directly influence how digital prehabilitation is delivered across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a national innovation that will support thousands of future patients.

Who Can Take Part?

You are eligible if you:

  • Are currently preparing for major surgery, or
  • Have had major surgery in the past 12 months

Every experience counts – whether you had surgery for trauma, cancer treatment, cardiac issues, orthopaedics, or other conditions.  Your perspective will help ensure iPREPWELL meets the real needs of patients across different pathways.

Why Your Voice Matters

Digital health tools like iPREPWELL are transforming the NHS and improving patient care. But the most successful innovations are co-designed with the people who use them. By taking part, you will:

  • Help improve the support available to future surgery patients

  • Ensure patient voices guide NHS innovation

  • Contribute to better surgery preparation and recovery services nationwide

Plus – you’ll meet the development team, connect with others who understand your journey, and be compensated for your time and travel.
