Supporting Healthier Communities

Healthworks works with communities across the North East to deliver a wide range of services designed to improve health and wellbeing.

These include:

  • Physical activity and rehabilitation programmes
  • Stop smoking support
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding service
  • Healthy lifestyle programmes
  • Community wellbeing activities

These services help people stay active, manage long-term health conditions and improve their overall wellbeing.

The Power of Prevention and Partnership

During the presentation, Paul also explored how preventative health programmes and strong partnerships can help improve outcomes for individuals while reducing pressure on NHS and social care services.

The session highlighted the growing evidence that community-led health interventions can make a significant difference, particularly in areas experiencing higher levels of deprivation.

Events like this provide an opportunity to share learning, strengthen partnerships and raise awareness of the vital role community organisations play in improving public health.
