Investing in the Environment
We are Investors in the Environment Silver Award holders, and environmental sustainability is a core focus of everything we do.
Driving Change: Healthworks Commitment to Net Zero
At Healthworks, sustainability is more than a goal — it’s a core part of who we are. In early 2025, we proudly achieved the Investors in the Environment (IiE) Silver Award, a major milestone on our journey toward Net Zero by 2040.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility drives practical, measurable action across every part of our organisation. From reducing greenhouse gas emissions and cutting waste to promoting greener travel and energy-efficient solutions, we’re making real progress toward a sustainable future.
Our Ongoing Environmental Initiatives Include:
- Making sustainability a key consideration in every procurement decision.
- Minimising resource use through continuous green assessments and practices.
- Embedding sustainability principles across all departments.
- Promoting greener travel and digital-first communication to reduce paper use and travel impact.
- Saving energy with LED lighting, smart sensors, and efficient appliances.
- Empowering staff through regular sustainability training, updates, and engagement.
- Reducing waste through improved recycling and awareness programmes.
These steps have already delivered measurable impact – cutting Healthworks’ greenhouse gas emissions from 83 tCO₂e in 2023 to 69 tCO₂e in 2025.
The Healthworks Green Team
With our dedicated Green Team and ongoing partnership with Investors in the Environment, Healthworks continues to lead by example, proving that sustainable business practices create value for people, the planet, and performance.

Going for IiE Gold:
While we’re proud of this milestone, we know it’s just the beginning. We aim to reach the Gold Award next, and we’re excited about the projects we have planned. By continuing to innovate and engage with our community, we hope to inspire others to take action for the environment.
iiE is an accessible and proven route to help organisations get started on their sustainability journey and make a real impact. It has been running for over 12 years, and in that time has helped hundreds of organisations from all sectors and sizes to improve their environmental performance. The scheme is owned and managed by a sustainability charity.

Smart Carbon Reporting
Below, you’ll find two key graphs from our Smart Carbon reporting, illustrating how we are performing against our sustainability targets and detailing the sources of our emissions.
These graphs are updated annually to reflect our progress, as we work to meet and exceed our environmental goals. This ongoing reporting is an integral part of our commitment to achieving the IiE Silver level.
Carbon emmissions
This graph shows Healthworks’ carbon emissions for 2023 to 2024, highlighting key areas for improvement. A significant portion of these emissions comes from travel, and reducing this impact is a focus for Healthworks moving forwards.
