The New Year Quitter Kickstart is a free stop smoking support pack from the Healthworks Stop Smoking Service, designed to help you quit smoking with confidence. It focuses on small, practical steps to help you manage cravings, break habits, and stay motivated.

Smoking is a leading cause of preventable illness in the UK, but the good news is that it’s never too late to quit – and the benefits start almost immediately.
Our free stop smoking resource page has information, practical tools, and motivation to help you understand the risks of smoking, the positive changes your body can make when you quit, and how to keep your quit journey on track.
Everyone’s quit journey looks different – and you don’t have to go it alone. Alongside our resources, you can connect with others for encouragement and shared tips.
Healthworks Stop Smoking Facebook Support Group:

Our private Facebook group offers friendly, evidence-based support to help you quit or cut down on smoking.
You’ll find practical tips, encouragement from trained advisors, and support from our team and others on a similar journey.
It’s a safe, non-judgemental space for anyone thinking about quitting or trying again.
Beyond our community based support, we’re proud to work with local partners to bring stop smoking help into clinical settings – so support is available wherever you need it most.
Project Spotlight: Working with Newcastle Hospitals Trust
Our stop smoking advisors also offer stop smoking support to in-patients in Newcastle Hospitals.
The Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service (TDTS) is a joint initiative between Newcastle Hospitals and Healthworks, aiming to combat tobacco dependence and support healthier recovery for all in-patients who smoke.
Launched in November 2022, this partnership receives 1,000 to 2,000 referrals per quarter from inpatient wards across Newcastle hospitals. The programme plays a vital role in maintaining the hospitals’ smoke-free status by offering personalised support to smokers.
All patients are invited to use this service as part of their care.
