Help make a difference
When you donate or fundraise for Healthworks you will be helping us make a difference to the health, wellbeing and life outcomes of local people!
There are many different ways that you can support our work. Whether you want to give a simple donation or be a bit more hands on by volunteering or fundraising we’re truly grateful. If you’re a daredevil you could do a charity challenge such as a sky-dive or if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground you could take part in a run…the possibilities are endless!
We would also love to hear from businesses who are interested in becoming a Corporate Partner.
How you can help us:
1. Make a donation
Every penny counts! No matter how small, Healthworks really values your donation. You can take action right now and know that your gift will immediately help us to support our work.
Your donation could support us in a number of ways, and could include:
- Development our community garden
- Enabling us to reach out, engage and support the most vulnerable people in the community
- Provision of more physical activities for everyone
- Replacing and updating our gym equipment and facilities
- Developing additional services for people with long term conditions
Make a donation:
2. Donate via your employer
Payroll Giving is a tax efficient way of donating to your chosen charity. The donation is taken straight from your pay (before tax) and goes towards funding your chosen cause. It’s also the easiest way of making a regular donation as once it’s set up, you can relax knowing your donation is helping to make a difference.
You can make a difference to the work we do here at Healthworks by opting in for Payroll Giving. Check with your employer that they offer Payroll Giving and if they do, they’ll arrange your monthly donation through your salary. You can sit back and relax knowing your monthly contribution is making a direct difference to people in local communities across the North East.
Getting your employer on board with Payroll Giving:
To donate regularly with Payroll Giving, your payroll department needs to work with a Payroll Giving agency to begin the process. If this is already set up, ask your payroll department on how you can get started. You should get a form to complete, with information on how much you wish to donate and giving your consent. You can visit Payroll Giving – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) for a full list of approved Payroll Giving Agencies.
4. Support us when you shop online
Shop at over 6,000 leading stores via the website or app and you’ll raise free funds for Healthworks. You don’t pay anything extra for your shopping, the donation is made at no extra cost to you.
So if you’re planning on buying some Easter treats this week or looking to book your summer holiday then why not do it through Give As You Live
It’s quick and easy, doesn’t cost you a penny and you will know that you are helping us make a difference when you shop!
4. Take on a Charity Challenge
We have teamed up with Charity Challenge who have some amazing challenges for you to take part in while raising money for us at the same time!
Search their website from over 100 challenges throughout the world. From the North Pole to the South Pole, and covering deserts, rivers, mountains, forests and jungles in between, we have a massive range of challenges to push you to your limits! Choose from a range of activities, destinations, levels of difficulty and duration.
Once you find your challenge you’ll register with them, choose Healthworks as your charity and then they will be in touch to tell you what happens next!

Our Volunteers are an incredibly important part of what we do, many have used our services previously and found the support invaluable and so they have wanted to offer support to other families too.
We have some great volunteering opportunities for the right people to get involved in supporting our work, and you can find out more about volunteering with Healthworks here.
